Chigamik is offering free, appointment-based, single-session counselling for anyone living in North Simcoe Muskoka. Appointments are 60-minutes in length and conducted over the phone or using a secure and private virtual video conferencing platform.
Chigamik’s single-session counselling offers quick access to support for individuals, couples, and families. These appointments are an effective solution for individuals experiencing mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, addictions, and relationship conflicts. They are intended to help individuals identify their current needs and tackle mental health issues before they erupt into a crisis. During the session, the therapist does not focus on background details, but addresses a current issue and/or specific goal.
Using a therapeutic approach, our therapists offer guidance and support to help clients think about things differently, focus on their personal strengths and goals, and connect them with other community supports, if needed. For many clients, a single-session appointment is just what they need to take action towards making that next step on a path towards change.
Please note: Appointments are 60-minute sessions and available on a first come first served basis. We will try our best to accommodate all appointments as soon as possible but please note that there may be a waiting period due to the high volume of appointment requests. This service is not intended to be a resource for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact 911 immediately.
Eligibility: To access this free service, you must reside in the North Simcoe Muskoka region and be 12 years of age or older.
Please complete the registration form below. You will receive a phone call from our Mental Health Intake Worker within three business days to schedule your virtual appointment. Prior to your appointment, you will be emailed consent forms to complete electronically and a secure and private link to access your video call.
